Has anyone actually seen the letter of recommendation link that recommenders receive? Do they typically give the option to attach a single letter rather than answering questions individually? And assuming that letter is already written, how long would it generally take to complete the form?
I ask because getting in touch with one of my recommenders has been a nightmare. He already wrote the letter for my R1 schools (at least, I assume it was one letter), so all I need him to do is submit the same letter (minus any school specific references, of course) for my R2 schools. I realize this isn't ideal, but it's just how it is. Since I'm not telling people at my current job that I'm applying, my options are limited. I've told him over email/voicemail that it should be a super-quick process, but since I haven't seen the forms, I just wanted to make sure this is a true statement.
Recommendations have been the single worst part of this process, as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait for that to be over!
