Hi Namita,

I have a total of 3 years work experience and during these 3 years I have worked in 3 different accounts. From my current account I have my direct reporting manager who will provide me with a LOR but, for my previous account I had two reporting managers for a short period of time(both for a couple of months) and both have left the organization since and I am not in touch with them any more. So that`s why for the second LOR, I am looking for a LOR from someone from my first account.

Understand the situation now. Yes you should reach out to the guy you mentioned in your first post. Although if this guy sounds like your peer in the recommendation, then that would not help for sure. I hope he is able to answer the recommendation questions with maturity.

In general, schools are looking for recommenders who know the candidate very well, on the basis of an experience that is:
1) As long as possible.
2) As intense as possible.
3) Experience that is preferably work-related.

The level of excitement that the recommender demonstrates, and the reasons for this excitement (supporting examples), are most important. If this someone can provide a great recommendation for you, you should probably ask him. You can explain his status and the fact he is no longer in your organization in the optional essay.
