I want to know if I can apart from My HOD, Boss etc can also ask a Letter of recommendation from my mentor.
As per my knowledge while submitting my B School application I need 2 Letter of recommendation.
The person is
Senior Engineer Samsung SDI at Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, Korea.
He was earlier with
Tech Lead at Honeywell Technology Solutions, Bengaluru, India Development.
I ve worked with him at Honeywell for 6 months and he knows me more than my HOD.
Can I get a letter from him for my B-School application (US). [I mean is it acceptable]
Also If that person is not in the country currently then is there any alternative yet ?

Hi DarkAlex,
Always remember the following pointers while selecting a recommender:
1. The person should have worked with you and should know you well
2. The person should be senior to you
3. You work should have a bearing on the performance your recommender.
The designation does not matter a lot.
The recommendations are sent via e-mail, so it does not matter if the person is in the country or not.

Thanks a lot, Yes all 3 points are satisfied. I just want to know how does it work. I mean just an email? Wont It be too unofficial or I have to send him some Format and he need to sign and stamp it officially.
