between A and E . Pick E because A uses "Like" . Is the use of "as" the same as "such as"?

A,B - Incorrect usage of Like.
C - Incorrect. Modifier
D - Incorrect. Modifier
E - Correct.

Most of us chose E.........
could someone explain me what the structure is?

As would be the case of any star of similar mass, once the Sun exhausts the hydrogen in its core, it will expand into red giant and eventually eject.
1.What the function of " as "?
2.and what the subject of " would be" is
I really in doubt. :shock:

I discard A and C on the basis of the rules for like and as. B can also be discard because we expect kind of a noun after the comma and there is nothing sembling a noun. Between D and E I choose E. D doesn't have a verb. The instructory phrase doesn't make any sense.
