Lee ---------- 24 --------- steve


shortest = root \(24^2\) + \(7^2\)= 25

Shortest Possible distance from Lindsey's house to Steve house = \(\sqrt{7^2 + 24^2}\)

Or, Shortest Possible distance from Lindsey's house to Steve house = \(\sqrt{625}\) = 25 Miles, Thus answer must be (B)

We can use the Pythagorean theorem to solve this problem:

7^2 + 24^2 = x^2

49 + 576 = x^2

625 = x^2

x = √625 = 25

Answer: B
