Question

Hi,

I am very much dedicated to join some educational program abroad(Outside India.) But I dont have any experience of life in any other country. I also dont have the knowledge of even whats right and whats wrong outside India.

Please help me.

It depends on your interests. You may not want to go for MBA if you have interest in Engineering.

you probably want to do some kind of an exchange/study abroad, camp counselors, works + travel program - very easy way to travel and learn about other countries/cultures.

Having lived abroad myself, I can tell you to not worry about it too much and focus instead on all the great experiences and opportunities you will gain. We all worry about living overseas, but that's completely normal. The most important thing that I discovered was that foreigners are actually not that foreign. There are differences, of course, but as human beings we're much more similar than you might expect. Besides, the differences are the fun part!

In terms of what to do, ask people about their experiences living abroad. Pump them for as much information as possible.

A good way to prepare would include some light travel. Another option is to do a short stay in a country and enroll in a language or culture immersion course. You can also participate in some international volunteer organizations.

Being an Indian who moved here when I was 17 by myself, I have to tell you the culture and the mindset is vastly different in the Western World and not in a derogatory sense or anything. Conservative outlooks might need to undergo drastic changes if you want to fit into this culture. But that said, if you're thinking about the US, anyone can fit in, really. You just need to put in a bit of effort and be openminded to change

As suggested, go abroad and do some volunteer work or just travel to get a feel for things. It'll help

I am basically from India and now living in USA. I would say - there is not much to worry about.Once you are outside India you will just adapt with the ways of living in the new place much faster than you think.

So far I have had a good experience here and people have always been willing to help.

Indians can adapt any culture, though I myself never went outside India....but I m quite sure it will be adventurous.
