I take the GMAT on Friday, probably one of the few people expecting a higher verbal score than quant (I was a History Major who wanted nothing to do with math/science) A couple of quick logistical questions re: scratch paper, etc.
1) Lined or unlined?
2) Can you begin drawing your grids (for marking questions/answers) and jot down some notes during the breaks?
3) If you finish a section/the test early, can you go on, or do you have to wait until the time is up?
Thanks...this forum has been great motivation for me - especially to see the level of detail of the preparation. I've only had a month to study, working full-time, but hopefully will do OK. Only applied to one school for F'05, and the rest of my application is strong, so if I don't embarass myself on the GMAT, things should work out.

ETS provides scratch paper. It is unlined and yellow in color, 3 continuous sheets. After the end of each section, the test conductor will come, take that scratch paper, and issue you a new set. You cannot carry any material inside the test center. Test center will provide you pencil, pen etc. FYI, all tests conducted by ETS are video taped.
During the breaks, you wont be having scratch paper. ETS will issue you new set of sheets after you start the new section.
No, you do not have to wait for the next section. There is five mins optional break between the sections but you can cancel it. However, I wont advice that. Three hrs of stress without a break it too much.

You need to visit your test center before your test and ask them these questions. It also helps if you feel more familiar with your test environment. In my center I got 6 sheets (plain, blue) stapled together. I was told I could raise my hand and get another set any time if needed. You can end your section early.
