Long term and short term goal

Hi

I heard from many of friends who are MBA grads and also from admission consultants that any typical application will have a long term goal of starting their own firm and a short term in consulting or finance ( for about 3 to 7 years) based on their Entreprenuership plans......

Since this is common, How do you differentiate yourself if your goals are in this lines from others in the applicant pool....what can be demonstrated to the adcom showcasing your commitment and preparedness about your long term goal

If you feel its harder to differentiate yourself in goals, then maybe try to differentiate yourself in other segments of the application, such has history and personality. Short term goals usually are more typical since most of the campus have a certain amount of company will feed into. Maybe you can really go into a very specific long term goal if you choose. I think they realize that lot of people will be going to Fin/Consulting so I think it's better to be realistic if that's where you want to head. Consulting usually makes sense if you are planning to transition into management.

Hi

My question is specific to a goal as a social entreprenuer. In what terms i can show my preparedness and committment to my long term goal. I sensed from many people that most applicants have long term goal as entreprenuership but only few stay committed even during or after graduaction......my point is to show my differentiator that i am really committed to it....

In order to do this

1) do I need to be ready with a Business plan
2) Showcase any network that I partly rely on

etc.....any points in these lines would help
