Took the GMAT this past week after taking the Manhattan GMAT course and only received a 650. (Q 42 V 39).
Would like to try again in about 6 weeks.
Need to improve parts of my quant, think I can handle the verbal myself.
Any recommendations ? Either for tutors in the NYC area or at least a prep plan or another course that can help boost my numbers.
Was testing in the 680 range on Manhattan GMAT tests and in the 720 range on GMAT Prep exams.
Thanks in advance.

Hi alldet11111,
First off, a 650 is a solid score (it's right around the 80th percentile overall) and it might be enough to get you into Business School. Based on your prior practice scores, it's understandable why you might want to retest, but it might not be necessary.
Before I offer any advice, I'd like to know a bit more about your prior studies:
1) How long did you study?
2) Did you use any other resources besides the MGMAT Course?
3) When you took your CATs, did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
Given your Official Score, I agree that focusing on the Quant section would be a good idea. How much time do you think you would be able to commit to your studies each week?

The 650 is ok; was hoping to do better to have a shot to get into NYU. Obviously, thats not happening with a 650.
1. Started studying in late January. Signed up for in-person Manhattan GMAT course in February, finished in April and then spent the last few weeks working on practice exams and reviewing topics.
2. a. Manhattan GMAT books and materials (OG guides included)
b. GMAT prep pack 1
c GMAT exam pack 1
3. Took last 2 GMATs with all 4 categories and proper timing: 680 Manhattan GMAT (45,37) , 720 GMAT Prep (45,45)
My schedule is fairly flexible. Can devote 2-3 hours per day M-F and 6-8 on Saturdays and Sundays.
