Hi
If your recommenders submit letters for Round 1 but you do not end up submitting the full application, most schools will not automatically carry those recommendations over to Round 2. In many cases, the system only associates recommendations with an active application for that round.
The safer approach is to have your recommenders prepare their letters now but hold off on submitting until you are certain which round you will apply. This prevents any confusion and ensures the letters are correctly linked to your Round 2 application if you choose to wait.
If you are still unsure, the best step is to email the admissions office of each school. Policies can vary, and some schools may allow recommendations to carry over, while others may require a new submission. Confirming this now will save you and your recommenders effort later.
Best of luck!
