Hi,
I have applied/am applying to many top schools for an MSc in financial engineering/mathematical finance in the UK and US. I am studying in a decent Uni. in the UK in engineering, currently with a high first class grade (80%). I have a 1 month internship in corporate finance.
The schools I am talking about are Imperial, LSE, Oxford, UCBerkeley, UCLA, Columbia U.
However, the low point in my profile is my 620 GMAT (Q50, V23). Is the low verbal (and therefore low overall) a real blow for me? Since I am applying for quantitative finance courses, do they look at verbal score that much?
Should I retake GMAT to try and pull up the verbal score? (This was my second try of the GMAT) OR what I am currently thinking is that since the GRE does not have an overall score, should I try taking the GRE instead? With this, the low verbal score wouldn't actually affect the good performance I did in the quant section.
Thanks.
