I recently sat the GMAT and score a 760 - Q47 V47
I am hoping to apply to programmes such as MFin at MIT and MFE at Oxford and am worried that the quant score would be too low.
Maths and quant skills are not an issue for me, I received top marks in maths, applied maths and physics in school and I am currently studying for a BSc in Economics and Finance which contains a lot of heavy maths based topics.
I have a GPA of 3.9 - 4.2 scale
Coursework includes:
Optimisation in Finance: A
Foundations of Financial Maths: A
Inferential Statistics: A
Intro to Probability: A+
Econometrics: B+
Advanced Calculus for Economics and Finance: A
Applications of Differential Equations: A
Linear Algebra with Applications to
Economics: A
Do you think that this background would be enough to offset a weak quant score or should I consider retaking?

First off, a 760/Q47 is an outstanding Score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. While a Q47 won't "impress" anyone, it won't necessarily keep you from getting in to the Schools that you are interested in either. You're ultimately asking Admissions questions though - and since you are interested in some highly-competitive Programs, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better).
