Hello Folks,

Can a person with 3.0 - 3.7 GPA in his/her studies get into top 30 B schools?

PS: He/She has Gmat score of 700 - 730.

thanks

Yes, I would say a 3.0 would open more doors than a 2.8, and the higher the GMAT the better, but it's possible for top 30. And maybe even top 20, depending upon how well you execute the application meaning CV recommendations essays an application boxes.

The more over-represented you are the more upward pressure on your GMAT so if you are Indian or Chinese then that will require a higher stats standards than the average.... even higher still if you are male, worst case scenario a male in IT.

That said, I helped an Indian IT candidate get into NYU and Ross who had a 3.0 GPA and a 730 GMAT, with no hobbies, community or extracurriculars.

It's really important to use the application to seem more "real" to adcom.
