...my last two GMAT Official Mock Tests, i got 620 and 660 respectively.

Probably fair to say a drop of 200+ points from a Mock to an Actual is not normal. It may be worth getting the ESR and thinking over what happened during the exam as you review it. Was there a chance, for example, that you got some easy Quant questions wrong? Or that you may gone through RC passages more quickly than you usually do.

I'm not sure what the posters are above are hoping an ESR will tell you -- you clearly performed very differently on this test than you normally do. The important thing is to figure out why, and an ESR isn't likely to tell you the reason. You'll want to think back to test day and work out out what might have happened: were you tired, anxious, distracted? Did you use a different pacing strategy than normal? Did you feel you were getting questions wrong early on, and did you let that affect your performance later?

The difference between your diagnostic scores and your real score is so big that there must be an explanation, other than your ability level, for it. If you can work out what the reason is, you can then figure out what to do next time to ensure it doesn't happen again. That's assuming your diagnostic scores weren't inflated, as Ajitesh points out above. If you take a few days off, and then take a test with questions you've never seen before (if you haven't used the extra official tests yet, you could buy those) you can confirm your level is in the 620-660 range you expect. And if that's the case, then if you can try to address what went wrong this time (get more sleep, or learn about how to control test day stress -- it all depends what might have caused issues on this attempt), your score should be much, much higher on a retake. And if you find your level is not as high as your earlier diagnostic scores suggested, then you might need to try something new with your preparation.

I appeared for my GMAT exam today and got a 410 score. Q31/V15. I don’t have any words to explain this because i am still in shock. When the score popped up on my screen, I thought it’s not what it is. I know this sounds ridiculous and people get the score they prepare for. But for me this is so bloody shocking because in my last two GMAT Official Mock Tests, i got 620 and 660 respectively. I was confident, driven, worked hard for it. But what happened today has no explanation. Now I am just sitting here thinking what to do next. It feels all the ways forward are closed for me.

I was looking forward to apply for Mim course this Fall but i dont think any B-School would accept me.

When did you take your last 2 mocks? Were they on old or new platform?

Hi Ushank619,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss any of those potential issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Ushank619,

I'm sorry to hear about how things went with your GMAT. I see it has been a few days since your post, so have you made any decisions on how to move forward? Also, regarding your score drop, here is an article that may provide some answers for you:
