I am sure this topic has been covered but I was not able to find all the answers I was looking for.
I got admitted at LSE's MS in Finance but I am wondering which program is best between Finance and Finance and Private Equity. What are the main differences between the 2 programs?
Also, is there a way for me to move from the MS in Finance to the MS in Finance and Private Equity ?
I did my undergrad in France where I followed a double major in mathematics and economics. I would like to start working as an investment banker, after a few years do a MBA and join private equity.

Hey congrats Gautier! LSE Finance newly admitted here as well 
From what I researched before applying, the only difference between fpe and fin is one PE module, which no one but fpe students can sit in. The difference seemed and still seems very trivial to me. My friend who’s about to finish the fin course said they’re pretty much in a cohort with fpe students.
I would actually recommend you to stay in Finance class if you want to join IB upon graduation. Fpe isn’t considered a more elite class but a dedicated version, as the admission rate of fin is even slightly lower than fpe... Also, applying with fpe on cv seems a strong signal to the employers that you might be looking for PE positions while apply for IB only as a backup. If you decide to do an MBA before joining PE in the future, why not include the PE elements during your MBA study?
