The pipe can drain x liters in 4 hours
So, it will drain x+18 liters in 4*(x+18)/x hours, which is given as 4
Solving the equation, we get x = 36
x+18 was used because in 6 hours, 6*3 liters were added to the normal capacity.
So, it will drain x+18 liters in 4*(x+18)/x hours, which is given as 4

An intuitive approach
You are asked the capacity of the tank
So if the rate of the drain pipe is x/4 liters per hour then according to the question, the drain pipes's rate was lower i.e x/6 liters per hour
The rain water slowed down the pipe. We are given the rate of rain water which is 3 liters per hour
Hence
x/4 - 3 = x/6 i.e x = 36 i.e D

i did this question by plugggin in options
i tried fiiting in number which were divisble by 4, 3,6 and instanly cheched with 36 is my approach correct ?
