Official Solution:
A right cylindrical tank with radius of the base 1 and height 2 is half full of water. If all the water is poured into another cylinder tank with height 1 and radius of the base 2, to what percent of its capacity will this new tank be filled?
A. 20
B. 25
C. 32
D. 35
E. 40
The amount (volume) of the water in the first tank is \(\frac{1}{2}*(\pi{r^2}h)=\pi\);
The capacity of the second tank is \(\pi r^2 h=4 \pi\);
Therefore, water would occupy 25% of the second tank.
Answer: B

Though this looked like an easy question l still backed into the answer, maybe l should brush up on my formulas/algebra.
How did you determine not to use the total surface area of a right circular cylinder (2*Pi*r*h + 2*Pi*r^2)
But instead you knew to use only (Pi*r^2*H)?
Help!! l was a little confused on which formula to use..
