Adrien’s and his wife Camille’s ages are in the ratio 5:4. In 6 years, the ratio of their ages will be 11:9. At the time they got married, the ratio of their ages was 7:5. How old was Camille when they got married?
A. 18

Let their current ages be \(5x\) and \(4x\). Then \(\frac{5x + 6}{4x + 6} = \frac{11}{9}\), which gives \(x = 12\), so their current ages are 60 and 48.
Let \(t\) be the number of years ago they got married. Then \(\frac{60 - t}{48 - t} = \frac{7}{5}\), which gives \(t = 18\).
So Camille’s age at marriage was \(48 - 18 = 30\).
