Machine J runs at a constant rate and produces a lot consisting of 300 bottles in 4 hours. How much less time would it take to produce the lot of bottles if both machines J and P were run simultaneously?
(1) Machine P produces lots faster than machine J.
(2) Machine J and machine P finish at least 3 lots in 3 hours working simultaneously.

From the question stem, we know that Machine J will produce 75 bottles/hour in a lot of 300.
(1) Machine J produces lots faster than machine P.
Knowing that Machine J produce lots faster than machine P does not give us the time
the machines take to produce the lots. Hence, insufficient.
(2) Machine J and machine P finish at least 3 lots in 3 hours working simultaneously.
Since it is at least 3 hours, for 3 hours we will get a different solution.
Similarly for 4 hours of production, we will get a different solution.
Hence insufficient.
Having the information, together does not arrive at a solution(Option E)
