Hello Angela,
you've already read the stickys and experiences from other (preferably outstanding) test-takers? That would be the first step I think. You'll find lots of helpfull information regarding preparation, even for short preparation.
A good score in quant is achievable. There is a limited number of mathematical concepts tested in GMAT. You should master them in order to be armed for the GMAT, in which this concepts are tested in multiple and maybe masked manner.
Where do you live, btw? I thought of the world as being completely cross-linked and that you can be at every place in less than 30 hours.
This forum and the OG should be enough to make you ft for the quant part, but you must be aible to learn them [the concepts]. Some people instruction is the more effective way to learn math, then you should buy further prep material, others learn more effective in that they find the concepts themselves. You should be aware of your learning psychology.
If you want to start right now with math, go to the beginners math section on this forum. Solve them alone without glancing at the other solution, and if you've made errors look at the solutions, they're quite helpful. You'll improve your math fast.
(Pay special attention to traps from the beginning on)
When do you want to take the GMAT?
Bye
