This year I am matriculating at a school that gives out aid on the basis of financial need. I am an international student almost certain to receive the maximum aid award. Me and my boyfriend are also thinking of getting married at some point during the two years (ideally next summer), which is probably not very unusual among MBA students.
My only concern is that, given that my boyfriend earns significantly more than I do and on his own he probably would qualify for no aid at all, us getting married will impact my financial aid package. I am very much against him contributing towards my loans, but given that they do take into consideration spouse's income, I believe my scholarship may be reduced. Has anyone seen this scenario play out?

I haven't been through it myself, but if he makes enough that as a couple you would be considered more well off than most newlywed students, I would think it could negatively impact how much aid you get. Is it possible to check with the financial aid office before you make a decision?
