Marshall vs. Kenan-Flagler vs. McDonough

Hey All,

Thanks in advance for your insights.

After undergrad, I spent two years in private wealth and sales and trading. I then went to law school and have spent the last two years practicing commercial and securities litigation. I thought I could jump to the business-side from law, but since I don't do corporate/transnational law, every year that passes makes it that much harder to make the jump.

My goal is to end up in PE/VC or directly in an operational role at a startup. Does one school make more sense than the rest?

I think Georgetown is good for that law position you desire.
It has the best law school.
Also, has a good finance reputation with students going to wall street every year.
I do like Marshall too, but given your needs GU is the best

An idea ...

Try to get on as, maybe, a COO (or maybe just under a COO level) at a small / midsized PE / VC firm ... and then if you'd like, try to transition away from an operating role at a firm into a deal-doing role (at the same firm or another firm).

Once you're in the industry, it's easier to move around a bit.

Depending where in the country you'd like to live after you graduate, any of the three COULD get you there. In every event, you'll need to hustle as these sorts of jobs aren't often on the list for on campus interviews.
