Good morning,
My name is Alessandro Meneghella, I'm attending the second year of a bachelor course in economics and management at the University of Trento and I would like to do a Master in Finance in one of the top European universities/business schools in September 2022. My focus is principally on LSE MSC in Finance and economics and Hec MSC in Finance ( both are pre-work experience masters).
I'm writing this post because I'm a bit lost on what I should do to strengthen my profile.
Here below what I did Until now:
GPA: I have an average of 28.8/30 and if I keep it constant I should be able to have a Bachelor's degree of 110/110 cum laude
GMAT: 710 Q48 V39
English level: I have Cambridge certificate C1 and I'm going to do the IELTS in May
Work experience: I did a summer internship in a web marketing company in Miami in 2019.
Last year I founded a Startup with the intention of creating an innovation hub for projects aimed at innovating in a sensitive and sustainable way our routine.
The first of this project has been presented in June to "Puglia Sviluppo SPA" a regional institution that decided to finance it. moreover it won "estrazione dei talenti" thanks to which I will have the possibility to be trained by a business incubator.
Other experience: I did an Erasmus at KU Leuven in Brussels and I had the possibility to take part to "TEPSA EU@Work seminar in EU Affairs".
I have been an AIESEC volunteer for 5 months from September 2019 to February 2020 and in the previuous year i did other activities such as Rotary exchange Programme and RomeMUN (Model United Nation)
I have 8 months before universities open the application for the 2022 class and I wanted to know how can i improve my profile. I'm aware that most of the thing i did are not concerned with Finance and I was wondering what i could do to strengthen my profile from this point of view.
I thought to do a intenrnship related to Finance this summer but there are two main problems:
I'm really late considering that most application deadlined where in December/ January and this summer i may invest most of the time on the startup. Considering this, shall i try do to a work experience even if it is not in a top firm or shall i focus on my startup?
Moreover, I also thought to attend some extra online courses (6-weeks online courses many universities propose) related to Finance, is it a good idea?
I also wanted to know if, considering my profile i should improve some areas and how i should do that.
Thank you in advance for any answer
I'm really lost
