There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Tepper's Interviews are typically for 30 minutes. They are blind interviews, which means your interviewer has access to only your resume. Tepper's interviews are largely behavioral, which means they ask you a lot of situational questions. We have seen applicants being asked 4-5 behavioral questions across the broader themes leadership and improvement, diversity, conflict and challenges. The following samples present you with those questions in varying forms.
LEADERSHIP: What are your strengths when it comes to leadership? What are areas you could improve? Tell me about your leadership style. Tell me a time when you mentored someone. What did you learn from them? Tell me about an accomplishment you're proud of. Tell me about a time you were less successful as a leader
TEAM: Tell me a time when you helped a poor performing colleague in your team. Tell me about a time when you made a decision that faced resistance in your team. How did you convince your team? Tell me about a time when you worked with a difficult person, task or situation. Tell me a time when you had to listen to an opposite perspective and agree to it Tell me a time when you had to make an unpopular decision. How did you convince your team? Tell me a time when you had to work in a cross-collaborative team environment. Tell me a time when you a person/colleague influenced your work. Tell me a time when you had to handle conflict within team Tell me a time when you had to make an unpopular decision? What would you like to take back from that decision?
CHALLENGE/ FAILURE: Tell me a time when you faced a challenge. Tell me a time when you face a difficult situation Tell me a time when you could not meet the expectations set for you. Tell me about a time when you had to make a compromise. What did you do about it? Tell me a time when you didn’t have data for your project and you had to manage with limited information Tell me a time when your lack of knowledge or experience presented a difficulty, how I handled it Tell me a time when your initiative failed. What did you learn? How did you implement this learning in a later example? Tell me a time when your leadership was not up to the mark.
KNOWLEDGE GAP & IMPROVEMENT: How do you learn and improve yourself professionally? Tell me about constructive feedback you got at work and how did you take it. Tell me a time when you have to work on something with knowledge gaps? How did you fill those knowledge gaps? A time when you learned from people more senior than you?
DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, ADAPTABILITY: Tell me a time when you worked with a diverse set of people. What did you learn? Tell me a time when you reached out to learn a culture better Tell me a time when you made an effort to increase diversity in your workplace. Tell me a time when you experienced a cultural shock. Tell me about a time when you had to adapt. Tell me about your international experiences if any
OUTSIDE WORK Tell me about an accomplishment outside work that you are proud of. Tell about engagement in professional clubs outside the organization What are your hobbies outside work? What do you do for fun?
