Hello, I am in my final year of a dual bachelor program between Loyola University Chicago (where I already received a Physics Bachelors and Math Minor in three years) and University of Illinois in Urbana (where I am receiving an Industrial Engineering Bachelors this Spring). Within my engineering coursework, I was exposed to finance and economic courses that peaked my interest in the financial markets. Ideally, I would love a job where I can use my quantitative background to thrive in the business world, possibly in the business operations side of a company. I was recommended to look into the MS Finance degree from an engineering professor, who stated that it should give me an in depth understanding of the finance side of companies. I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion if the MS Finance degree would be beneficial for an engineering student trying to get a substantial understanding about how companies work, as well as if the credential would benefit an engineer further down the line in his/her career?
I appreciate any advice!
