Hey everyone,
I just graduated from a university in Ireland, and few of the business schools I wish to apply for (I'm taken a year out of study, to get work experience) part of their admission process including doing a GMAT. For weeks now I have been doing my research as to what materials I will need. My aim is 700. After reading a lot of people advise on the forum, I am putting together materials that I hope will help me sore 700 but I need help in deciding if these materials will be good enough to help me reach my goal. I currently do not have a job and I will not have one until January. So from now to January I have a lot of hours to study.
The materials I am thinking of getting are as follows:
-
Official Guide for GMAT
-
MGMAT Complete GMATstrategy Guide Set
Do you all think these are good? And do you have any advice?
I look forward to your reply and thank you
Hi gbemi,
It is good that you have started so early. I believe that you must have gone through the mba.com website and understood the pattern and structure of the exam.
The most important part of your preparation plan is to stick to the plan. For a good preparation plan, you can refer here:
gmat-study-plan-how-to-start-your-gmat-prep-80727.html?fl=menuThe material you have listed is excellent, but you will be more benefited if you join an online course that will give you a plan to go forward and the video lessons will explain the fundamentals to you. You can go through the ratings of various courses here on the forum and can decide on one. Moreover, most of the courses including ours give you a trial. you can use this to your benefit and decide on the course that best suits you.
Apart from
the Official Guide, you can also add the Verbal review to your preparation and then supplement it with the Exam Pack1.
The part which will improve your preparation the most is taking the mock CATs.
Always solve the full mock CATs with the AWA and IR section to get the most accurate picture of your preparation.
All the best!
