Hi, I got a GMAT score of 730 but with an IR score of 1 only. Does it matter when I apply for top 20 MBA program?

IR 1 is not good. schools usually look for a 4. if you can’t retake the GMAT and score a high score like 730, I suggest you use the optional essay / or online application to explain what happened ... and how the 1 doesn’t represent you

GMAT is just one factor... your work experience, leadership experience, extra curricular activities, who you are as a person, etc. matter more

nevertheless, let’s say you are aiming for 700+ :) (although, I have had 600s get into the top programs too!)

OF COURSE! any diversity counts! and Native American is counted as "diversity", so it helps... but naturally, all the other factors need to be amazing too...

I think native American kind of help because statistics of school admission show that they admit native American students with lower GMAT scores.

Some of my teachers just told me school won’t take IR into consideration. They only look at your total score(quant and verbal). Is that true?

As I said, most programs look at IR, and just want to make sure you passed the 4 mark. some might ignore this, but it is a risk (for the very top schools)

I actually have another question. I’m an international applicant who applied to Emory, GT in round 3(the last one). Do they actually not consider admitting international students in round3?

R3 is usually very very tough for international students. it all depends on the R1 and R2 numbers, so hard for me to tell you if they will consider any internationals, but definitely not many. so, your chances are very low (sorry...), if you are an amazing diverse candidate with an 800 GMAT, then your chances are higher than if you come from an overrepresented background and have a GMAT Waiver / low GMAT...
