Hello guys,
I went through many threads on this forum and they all were truly of tremendous help for me. I am having a very queer query and I want to get it addressed by you people as I need to apply within next 15 days.
I have done my B.Sc in electrical engineering from reputable university of my country in 2011.
Work Experience:
I have been doing Freelancing on various freelancing websites for the past 2.5 years. Quite fortunately, my freelancing career turned out a success and I built a team of 5-10 members( all online and sometimes, work is so much that I need to hire 20-25 people) which I manage myself. The annual income is also very decent. I have had done this along with my studies but I still managed to garner very very decent income as well as long term clients(for this I had to work almost 6-7 hours a day while doing my bachelors). The business revolves around SEO/some web development/Content Providing.
Queries:
Now I want to apply to one of the top programs of my country which is LUMS Pakistan. They do require work experience of at least 1 year to get into that(though they say that work experience is NOT compulsory but preferred and as per many people, they usually take in experienced people). But other than this small scale entrepreneurship, I do NOT have any other work experience except one internship.
Regarding letters of recommendations, I have talked to my clients in US, China and they are more than ready to write those recommendation letters for me. But I am very apprehensive about my application. Would they consider my freelancing/entrepreneurship "experience" or shall I be considered among experienced pool of applicants..? Do I stand a good chance to get into it..?
Why MBA:
I want to get into MBA program because I really want to take my small scale business to a bigger level(having more physical existence than only virtual) and for this, I think I need to develop impeccable managerial expertise.
GMAT:
Still need to give and I am hopeful I will do good as I have started preparing it.
Extra-curricular:
NOT as such. Participated in some academic quiz and stood first.
So any suggestions/recommendations from you people in this regard. Any valuable output would be very very welcome. Should I need to be very very careful while "selling" out my this sort of experience..?

B.SC Electrical Engineering -- CGPA 3.12
High School - 90%
School -- 94%
So overall, pretty brilliant(with exception to undergrad and yeah, my intensive freelancing work hours affected my grades)!

Hello! Since you PMd, I'll contribute my thoughts, but I have no familiarity with international programs.
When you say decent income, that's a bit vague. Are we talking enough to match a standard undergraduate's salary? 2x? 3x? or are we talking supplemental income? like 1/4 or something? The former sounds like a business, while the latter sounds like a hobby. If you have your own corporate website and a portfolio of your work showcased, that's a big plus.
To me, on the surface, you sound like a very promising young entrepreneur. The ability to secure projects, recruit staff, and manage them to success is a quality that is not found in many young graduates (at least the ones I know!). If it was up to me, depending on your essays and samples of your work, I would definitely lean towards admitting you. But I don't know what the traditional pool of work experience looks like for LUMS Pakistan.
A website I found says the average GMAT is 570, which sounds to me like a relatively low barrier to entry, which is a good sign for you. However, maybe that means they put more emphasis on work experience. I'm really not in my element to say where you stand. But again, you certainly seem like an ambitious, value creator, and I think that definitely works in your favor.

I can show this by showing my transaction history on various Freelancing websites to the interview panel and this is what I will certainly do if I get a call-up for an interview...?
But the problem I am facing is that how should I sell out my his freelancing work experience. Rather I should say, how will I be able to convince them about my at least above average success in my small managerial career(in fact you are right in saying that not many undergraduates are into working online or getting successful.
