Hello,
I believe I am part of an over represented group. In that case, I read somewhere that it would better if I applied to the 1st round of the MBA admission deadline, if I can get a good application ready by that time. I also read that it would be better if I applied as early as possible. I plan to apply to 5 schools. Two of the schools have their round 1 application deadline in November and round 2 deadline in January. Where as the other three schools have their round 1 deadlines in January. If I want to hear from the five schools about their decisions around the same time, I'll need to submit my applications to all 5 schools in January.
My question is, would I be at a disadvantage if I apply to apply round 2 deadlines of two schools in January? Do I really need to apply as soon as possible? I've already taken GMAT and I know I can prepare a good application by their round 1 deadlines. However I want to be able to have the opportunity to choose which school out of the five schools I can attend based on the adcoms' decision. I don't want to pick a school based on the first one that accepts me.
So I am not certain on how I could go about deciding by which deadline to apply to? I'm hoping I could get some help here.
I'll truly appreciate your answers.
Hi Isti, I would recommend that you apply when your application is in it's finest form. If that is in Round 1, that would be ideal. If you are unwilling to commit to a school after receiving the results of your round 1 applications - and want to first get the results from Round 2 - well, all I can say is that a $1,500 deposit is a relatively cheap insurance policy given the grand scheme of things. That is, if the Round 2 schools are better ranked and/or are a better fit with your goals.
