MBA Application help!

Dear MBA aspirants,

I remember the crippling anxiety I got when people talked about the MBA. I was really keen on getting an MBA because I needed it to pivot in my career but the fear mongering really affected me badly. I then had an awful experience with an MBA admissions consulting service that made large promises but didn't fulfil even 5% of those claims. Following this experience, I took it upon myself to research how to write a good application, tailor my CV and join the dots to create a compelling story. As a result, I received offers with generous scholarships from INSEAD, Cambridge Judge Business School, Oxford Said Business School and Imperial College Business School.

How to navigate a low GMAT score? Can you assist?

If you are from the overrepresented demographic, it is hard at the moment.
I am doing more than assisting the candidates, trying to do my part, just not getting anywhere with it because of lack of support.

There are only 2 ways:

(1) Improve the test score itself by either retaking the GMAT (or taking the GRE).

(2) If that's not an option, then you can't really "navigate" it, but instead try to improve the other components of your application. I'm assuming your undergraduate GPA is likely done (unless you're still in undergrad). If you're still a working professional and have time, you can focus on extracurricular/community leadership and work achievements. If you're about ready to apply, then all you can really do is put together a solid written application (essays, CV/resume, LORs) and demonstrate real interest in the programs to which you are applying.

I agree with the others. A low GMAT score can be supported with a solid undergraduate GPA, work experience and application. It would be good to get more information to comment on the situation properly. I had a low GRE score myself but you would need to balance that with other components in your application. DMd you.

Thanks! I found the MBA journey a long one primarily because of the GMAT and GRE tests. I realised later on that my skills were more suited to the GRE format before that I kept studying for the GMAT. Writing my application was relatively straight forward once I started talking to the school admissions team or visited the schools.
