Hello people, I have read a lot of posts & mine seems to be a very peculiar one. A quick insight into my profile -
I did my undergraduate in Information Technology in 2011. I got placed in TCS but didn't take up the job as the pay scale was very low. Eventually I joined my family business in late 2011. We are into manufacturing, automobile sector - two wheeler & tractors dealerships and real estate. In the past 7 years I have made immense contributions to my company. We were recently rated A+ by Crisil. The business is doing good & we are growing at a healthy pace.
Hailing from a joint family setup, I am not given enough freedom to experiment and I feel that my capabilities aren't put to their best use. I don't feel challenged & off late there are differences among the stake holders of the company. Things don't seem to be good in near future. Hence, I have decided to make a career shift & explore the corporate world.
My work experience is irrelevant to my undergrad education & I have little interest in pursuing my career in IT. I have always been the management guy. I feel that doing an MBA will hone my skills & pave a way to the corporate world.
I am planning to take my GMAT soon. Can you please suggest as to which schools to apply - keeping in views the work Visa regulations in the respective countries.
Given the uncertainty looming around the Visa system in the US, do you feel that US MBA programs still have the charm ??
