Thanks for the suggestion 'mkrishnabdrr', I am actually giving GMAT on 30th Aug [2nd Attempt]. The reason i asked the above question was what if i don't improve my score and it still remains 610 or below.
Just wanted to discover my options with 610 and this profile.

I was aiming for Ted Roger [Ryerson]. The minimum GMAT required is 550 and also the average GMAT there is 620.
Do i have chance with this profile in Ryerson?

You may have a chance, but remember you will be placed in the Indian bucket where you have to stand out by competing against others who may have higher GMAT score/better quant-verbal breakdown and more work experience than you currently do.

Hi ronit1894,

Indian applicants typically are at median score + 20 to 30. As you realize, you’re too far at the moment. One thing positive in your profile is your experience in a new-age, fast growth, ups-and-downs kind of company, which if you present well can stand you out solidly and even a less-stellar score may not be a roadblock. But ideally, apply with the best score you can pull off.

Hi 99Colleges,

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I will try to improve my score in the next attempt. However, If i am not able to do so, I will go on with 610 and i will choose the universities accordingly and apply.

Anyways, I will wait for the next score. Hoping for the best. !
Thanks.

Hi Guys,

It would be a if you could spare out 5 minutes, read this and help me out.

My name is Ronit.
I am planning to pursue my MBA from Canada.

I am Indian.
Profile:
Work Ex. : 2 Years. At Zomato Media Pvt Ltd [In Marketing/Operations]
12th: 95%
10th: 90%
Graduation : Economics Honors, Delhi University
GPA: Not sure how to scale it out of 4. But as per Indian scoring, it's 68% [1st Division]
GMAT : 610 [Q49, v25]

I have a few universities in my mind such as Queen's, York, Mcgill, Rotman [Toronto], Ryerson [Ted Rodgers], Western Ontario, Ottawa, University of Victoria, Simon Fraster, Wilfrid and university of British Columbia.

I know the GMAT score is not so strong, but i think i have a decent academic background. Moreover i have a great background in extra curricular activities, especially Theater [Was the Vice-President].
Right now i want to discover my options. Anybody who has good knowledge about the universities in Canada and thus can evaluate my profile will be of great help. A lot of universities ask for a minimum of 550 GMAT and 2 years work ex.
Please suggest some good universities/Colleges where i can apply for Sep,2018 intake with this score and profile.
Thanks in Advance. Waiting for a positive response :)

Hi Ronit,

Why rush in to the admissions cycle when you are not prepared to your best?. My thinking is to always apply to the best colleges as it will open the best options for you post MBA (and your purpose in not to do an MBA, but to get a great job after that). Canada is a smaller market for MBAs and has their requirement only in a cluster of cities. I'd wait is out if I have to, build the work experience and the GMAT score, possibly also build upon extra-curriculars and apply to the best colleges, if not now, then next year.

If Zomato is giving you a good learning environment (having cleared their mess) then you'll be a stronger applicant with these changes.

Not sure you would have liked reading that, but the purpose of this forum is to open you to different views.

Hi Namita,

I totally agree with you. I know the GMAT is on the lower side. But i am pretty sure that i can create a good application with this work ex and academics. I am still hoping for a good score.

And I am open for views. Moreover, I know MBA in a top b school is the ultimate goal, but i would also like to explore other courses in the best universities in Canada that can help build my profile and hence my career. I am not in a hurry to apply for a Jan intake, but due to some circumstances i will have to give it shot for next year's September intake.
Finally, the purpose is not only to get a good job, but there are many factors related to the same. I should 'like' where I am living, what i am studying and ultimately what I am doing.
I know some people say it's too early [I am just 23], but i think it's good for me. I will have much more time to settle, to study more if i am not satisfied and take time to find a good job.

Hi guys,

I have given my GMAT exam again and scored 650 [Q49,V29,IR-8,AW-5].
I have crossed the average GMAT score of Ryerson [625] and i think i have more options now. I know I haven't touched the 700 mark but i think this more than many top university's average gmat score [In Canada]

Can you please suggest some good college i can apply to (With the given profile and Score).

Waiting for a reply, Thankyou :)
