This a question that has been bothering me as well. I'm currently 28, but will likely not be able to enter into a program until 31/32.
What factors do adcoms take into account? I've been delayed heavily due to:
1) Starting a new job a few months ago. I need to put in a few years to advance to a higher position before the firm will support the idea.
2) I "lost" several years due to personal circumstances which included reconstructive spine surgery, and the untimely passing of my younger brother. I went through a very dark period and put off any thoughts of school.
3) Pursuit of other qualifications (accounting and finance related certifications).
4) I know what I want. Everything I've done to this point has been thought out carefully. The MBA is the final piece of my plan and I intend to stay with my current employer and move into management. Will this have any impact as I don't fit in the large group of entrants who want to use the MBA and go work in MC or IB in NY/London, etc?
