As on today, I have total experience of 40 months of in IT industry. I want to pursue MBA in operations management starting next year. How do I justify my interest for operations management as my experience is in IT field?

Hello,
Its not always necessary that you explain how your preMba job is related to PostMba job. However if you are able to explain how you gained experience in terms of handling situations, leadership skills and creating creative solutions it would really make your application look good.
