Hello there,
tl:dr; MBA to get better at what I do rather than pivoting into a new career
I am done with my GMAT finally, scored well. I have started my next steps now, figuring out my schools, introspecting and figuring out my stories.
I currently work in the Digital Strategy department of a sector-leading manufacturing company. I am responsible for developing the strategy framework together with the stakeholders (CIO, vertical heads etc), strategy consulting for the digital functions in the organization and guidance on the digital investments.
Not sure, if I can call myself an in-house Digital Strategy Consultant. I progressed very quickly within 2.5 years from an IT Project Management Specialist to a Strategy Manager with multiple role promotions.
Though, I am learning on the job and performing consistently - I still feel a technical gap with no academic business background. Also, I want to get better at building resilient digital strategies.
Hence, I plan to do an MBA to address my technical gaps and transition into a full fledged consulting industry (not doing strategy work a single organization for long like I did till now)
I have seen a lot of successful and potential students with their short term goal as career pivot. Would my reasons to do an MBA hold strong? Would my strategy work add value to my profile or backfire to give me an admit?
