Assuming you get that 695+ in the GMAT, you should still address the weak GPA in the optional essay. The good news is that international GPAs do not impact the school ranks. If you offer them some compelling flavored slices in your pizza (ref the article), then you should have a decent chance. Do bear in mind that as an Indian engineer, you are an ORM, and that brings a highly competitive pool of competitors.

Work Experience: 6+ years across German MNC, Pvt. Defense, other manufacturing industries R&D
Roles: Led automotive products localization,
3 international patents filed,
1 paper published with Springer
Education:
X (CBSE): 8.6 CGPA
XII: 67%
B.Tech : 67.5%
M.Tech (IIT): 8.3/10 CGPA
Extracurriculars:
Followed/traded stocks & crypto (also ran a blog)
Previously made YouTube videos on stock trends
Assistant Head – Training & Placement Cell
Side Hustle / Entrepreneurship: Built and scaled webapp (100+ users in 60 days);
Built internal company AI tool for increasing efficiency
❓ My Core Question:
Given my 67% in B.Tech and XII, will my academic profile hinder chances at top B-schools like ISB, IIMA/B/C, INSEAD, or M7 (Kellogg, Wharton, MIT Sloan, etc.)?
I’ve heard mixed things about undergrad cutoffs—does strong M.Tech from IIT + patents + impact-heavy work balance this out?
Any advice on how to best position this academically weaker segment?
If yes, How much GMAT score needed, and any other extra things need to upgrade
Or should I leave this dream, that also please tell.
