Yea, finally did.

I'm now enjoying the horrible experience of bidding for classes.

What a nightmarish way to get your courses.

like avi, I decided this morning that sleep was more important. Looks like it was a good decision.

I'm probably going to skip the UCLA infosession on 9/19 and hope they have daily ones starting 10/8 when I go do the class visits. I'll still be there 9/21 just to sign in at the admissions office though.

Hello there,

I am based in Ireland and I will not be available to visit campuses in the US. Also no BS is going to come around for events. And no way I'll travel to the UK for each individual session. :?

I see some negative comments about "The MBA Tour", but, given my situation, would you recommend attending?
Is it possible to chat with the AdComs?

Also, is there any other tour with BS from the Ultra-Elite/Elite groups coming to Europe this autumn?

lumone,
I believe a few of us have posted biased opinions of MBA Tour as we had attended school events prior to attending the MBA tour and felt that the school events gave a better picture.
However, the tour is definitely good, especially in your case when it is not possible to go to any school.
Before you go, research the schools that you want to talk about. It tends to get a bit overwhelming at times as there are quite a few schools. Select the ones you want to find information about.

Be patient, and jot down all the questions you may want to ask ad-com officers. You will not get many chances to meet everyone and spend more than 5 minutes as 10 other applicants will be breathing down your neck.

Also topmba.com organizes something similar to this and I had received a few emails. You might want to look online for this.
Do attend the event by all means as schools will tell you how they accept admissions (you will get more information by reading the threads here).

Over all it is a good program to go to, but you will be overwhelmed and feel like a headless chicken if you dont do your homework.

lumone, if you don't want to go to London too many times, then I think going to the World MBA tour makes more sense to you (Link: https://www.topmba.com/mba_fairs/partici ... s_schools/). As aviroop said, do your homework as the whole process will be overwhelming .. and if you aren't prepared (About the choice of schools, the questions you have etc), then you may miss out a lot.

Hi,
I have a difficulty which is exactly the reverse of your's. Many of my target schools are located in Europe and, while I love to travel, visiting schools abroad willy-nilly is neither likely nor fiscally responsible. I am also a "non traditional" candidate. (i.e., I am significantly older than the median of the candidate pool and I am work in an under-represented industry) I attended a US event presenting European schools and found the event to be useful. As noted by other posters some face time is better than none at all. In addition, I was able to schedule personal inteviews with school reps outside of the group presentations. This might not be possible with the H/S/W of the world but is certainly worth the effort/email.
