question: How is this one different from the MBA Tour, other than the inclusion of international b-schools? In other words, if those of us who aren't applying to int'l schools have gone to an MBA Tour already, is this worth it?

The events are pretty similar so if you've already gone to TheMBATour event, I'd check out the "participating schools" list to see if there's a particular school you'd like to check out that you didn't get a chance to last time. 

Or if you'd like to make yourself more "known" to the school reps that's another advantage of going.

Has anyone actually attended one of the thembatour dot com events?
I am in Portland and the most feasible event for me is in SFO and would cost over 300$ in travel expenses.
Any opinions on whether that investment is worth it?

yeah, I'd like to know from people who have attended these if they're worth it. The MBA tour (not world one) is a full day... that's a full day I can work on my essays!

Yeah, except I'm stuck in a cabin with 40+ college people for the next 2.5 days near Yosemite. It'll be interesting... nothing romantic about it at all!

I went to the MBAtour last year in Chicago. It was pretty cool actually. You get the chance to talk to admission directors and officers from more than 80 MBA programs/schools. You can get the admission director for the school of your desire to get to know. You can freely face-to-face ask any question you have about the school, admissions, and your brief profile evaluation, whether you have a decent shot at the school. 

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend any as I don't live in the US anymore. I'm in the middle of no where now, Kuwait.
