I have heard that top strat consulting firms such as Mckinsey, Bain, BCG have strict very high GPA requirements for job right after undergrad. Even if there is no formal cutoff GPA, these firms consider usually only very high gpa applicants with mckinsey being most strict in that regard.
Does the academic gpa also factor heavily if one applies for job with these firms post MBA?
Many engagement managers and consultants at mckinsey seem to have non-target employers and average gpa prior to their job with mckinsey.
It'd be great to know about it from folks who work at or know about these firms here.
thanks.
