Hi All, need some help in deciding between admit offers. Extremely lucky to have received offers from multiple schools with generous scholarships at each of them. Will be financing the remaining amount via loans, and that amount is almost similar for all of them. Hence can't decide on that factor solely. (Would not mind a bit more debt if the long-term ROI is worth it)
A little about me - Indian male engineer (non-traditional) with around 4.5 years of experience in international shipping operations.
Post-MBA goal is to get into operations consulting roles or General Management LDP programs.
Although I got offers at all of them, I am principally torn between UNC and McCombs. I am open to relocating to either region (south/southwest), and don't mind the obvious size difference between Austin and Chapel Hill. My main concern is which school would be better for my job and career prospects as I do not have any business background to speak of.
Any comments/opinions about the programs, your thoughts on the direction/brand of the programs, or anything else would be greatly appreciated.
I did come across a few concerning posts about the UNC career services/student culture on reddit, but I do take them with a huge spoonful of salt. I personally loved talking to the students at each of these schools and feel like I would fit in well at both UNC and McCombs.

Congratulations on your admits!
The benefit of UNC is consulting placement and if you’re not looking for that, then some of the UNC value is decreased, making schools such as McCombs or even Owen more attractive than they would have been otherwise in light of $$. Both of them are located in large metropolitan areas that offer employment options with numerous alumni nearby. The sale for a nice opportunity to recruit close to where your homebase is.
I think McCombs is probably a good trade between rank and cost but I can see trying to minimize her cost as well. LDP programs are not really fancy or all that prestige looking from what I know at least about the program that Amazon has.
In terms of career services, they all are bad. if you can find a positive comment, that would be something to hold onto. However, career services in most business schools are severely underpaid, making maybe 60 or 80,000 a year. It’s hard to keep and recruit top talent at that cost unfortunately and the whole season seasonality means that everyone needs help with their résumé at the same time. There are only a handful of officers and at some schools you may wait six weeks until you get to see them again because there’s so many students. What I’m saying is that you should be prepared to have limited support and the fact you not hearing complaints about other schools probably means people just did not post the dirt. You should check with current students 👀
