Hey there,
If you are considering McGill, here are a few things that you should look at:
Reputation: McGill has a good reputation in Canada. Having said that, its MMF program is fairly new so you will have to check the progress of 2018-19 alumni to get a better idea of the program’s ROI.
Program:
McGill’s MMF program is quite well suited to the ones aiming to make a career in the portfolios of Investments and Financial analysis.
McGill has done something quite interesting to give a practical edge to the program curriculum. All the students of the MMF program work as an analyst with Desautels Capital Management Inc., a student-run registered investment ( with over $5 million assets under management) throughout the duration of the 1-year degree.
Job Prospects: If you are an international applicant, the job prospects would depend heavily upon your host country’s Visa and Immigration policies. Fortunately, Canada is one of the most immigrant friendly countries of the world, so that is a leverage.
McGill’s MMF alumni are working in Bank of America, Air Canada, Shagang Group, CoPower Inc.
Remember that schools will give you avenues, but it is upto you to network and hustle to land the job of your choice.
Lastly, you need to answer 2 key questions -
1.How will this program help you in achieving your long term career goals and
2.Do you fit into the the programs class profile?
Hopefully, the above pointers will help you in answering the first question.
As far as the class profile is concerned, despite being a young program - it is pretty selective ( Acceptance rate ranges between 8% to 10%).
Here are a few details about the 2018-19 MMF Student profile
3.67 Average GPA
689 Average GMAT*

On this note, I feel that a profile evaluation will help you gauge your chances at McGill better.
