Every school asks this in their interview. They ask why you’re interested in their school to gauge your interest with yield in mind.
But what are they trying to gauge when they ask “Why MBA” or “Why MBA now”?
You’d think, on the surface of it, that they are trying to see if your goals align with the school etc., but I can’t imagine a school would reject a brilliant candidate because of their “goals” which can of course be in constant fluctuation.
So what are they gauging? Perhaps that you’re in the right frame of mind / position in your life to attend?
Also, how important is this question for someone’s candidacy, would failing this question in the interview override your entire application?
