Hi everyone.

I heard that work experience is essential in applying for MBA.
Do I have any chance of admission if I've been working for a bit more than 1 year as a mechanic in a car repair shop?
I really don't like this job, so I now want to switch to Finance. I took a GMAT and scored 680. My GPA is 3.5 from third world country university.

You have a good score and GPA. When B-School wants to select a particular profile they will evaluate your leadership qualities. I am not sure how can you present your current job experience with a leadership role. There are few B schools which offer admission without Job experience as well. With your GMAT score maybe you can try MS Finance. If you have any specific schools in your mind, send them your profile and request for evaluation.

Hope for the best

Thank you for your reply.

Actually, I was considering getting MS in Finance, but the problem is that the schools I considered require a field-related bachelor degree, but I have a Bachelor in Engineering. And even if I find some schools that can admit me, I am afraid the switch from Engineering to Finance wouldn't be that smooth.
