(D).

No MBA ---> Bad Gmat or No Scholarship.

Only (D) follows the logic.

Altho these are good questions to build logical reasoning, but make sure u don't take them too seriously. Questions like these will never show up in GMAT. So don't break ur head if u get some wrong. Infact if u r close to ur exam date, avoid these type of CRs altogether and focus on assumption, weakean, strengthen types of questions.

I think the question is asking for CAN NOT validly drawn.

Which one of the following statements cannot be validly drawn from the above statements.

Only D from my point of view can not be drawn.

Good catch...I totally missed "cannot".....So it should be D

By the same reasoning I provided though

I must have answered this question, jpv. I did read it but i do not know why i didnot answer it.

D makes sense because Melinda does not earn an MBA doesnot mean that she did poorly on the GMAT or she could not get a scholarship. She might have not appeared for the test or she might have changed her mind not to do MBA without applying.

E can be refuted because it can be validly drawn from the statement. If melinda doesnot have a good gmat score and a scholarship, she cannot earn an MBA.

fact is that melinda can earn a MBA. the only reason that she cannot earn a MBA is X or Y. so when we get to know that she did not earn a MBA, we can conclude that X or Y happened. BUT when we get to know that X or Y happened, we can conclude many things. its not sure that X or Y results ONLY in not earning a MBA.
