it was half full on Tuesday. How many seats are in the hall.
Option 1:
20% increase in people will lead to 60% presence.
If total seats is x, then Tuesday has x/2 people . Now 20% of x/2 is added to x/2 then we will have 3x/5
But we wont be able to find x from here , hence not sufficient

Option 2:
20 more people contributed to 4% increase of peole.
then 100% will lead to :
4/100(x)=20
or
we can say 50% of x +20=54% of x
x/2+20=27x/50
20=(27x-25x)/50

in either we will be able to find the total seats. Hence option 2 sufficient. B is the answer

Metropolitan Concert Hall was half full on Tuesday night. How many seats are in the Hall?

(1) If the number of people in the Hall increased by 20% from Tuesday night to Wednesday night, then the Hall would be 60% full on Wednesday night.
(2) If 20 more people showed up on Tuesday night, that would have increased the number of people in the Hall by 4%.

Cant the answer be E. I know we can get the number of people through option B but cant we say that there might be more or less people than the seat as option only states the number of people in hall, might be some other people also be there as performers, etc and how is people correlated with number of seats.

I know E might look crazy at first, but if I am wrong please correct me.
