Any alumni/active students/applicants here?

What are your experiences, why did you choose Oxford? What are the strenghts and weaknesses of the programme? What are, in your opinion, the major differences to other schools?

There are a few posts about this program on Wall Street Oasis. Some have said that a high-level of math is required.

Applicant here. Applied in round 2 so I should hear from them about interviews on Feb 1. I chose to apply to the program because of a) the oxford experience b) I want the hard quant training. Worried about the interview though, I hear its completely technical (if I am shortlisted that is).

Not quite clear on your first question. I didn't mean to imply that I will be shortlisted and I mentioned the quant training in answering why I applied to the program. My undergrad was in finance at a top university in Australia and I have been working at a consulting firm. I am interested in the research track of the MFE program.

sorry my bad I didnt exactly know what "to be shortlisted" means and I didn't look it up in a dictionary :oops:

I interpreted it as beeing shorted from the list i.e. deleted.

Hi everybody,

Wanted to learn more about Oxford MFE program. I am an MBA from Asia but would like to pursue a specialized finance degree to pursue my career goals. Will have 2 yr work ex bfore the program starts next year. 
But, it seems from their class profile that they 'hate' to admit people already having Masters degree eg MBA although they themselves mention on their website that MBA and MFE are very different from each other
Do i have a chance? Or shud i target other colleges given i have MBA already? Does Oxford really discriminate people with MBA already?
