Hi Admissionado ,
I am currently in my 2nd year undergraduate and I want to apply next year to Mfin and Mim pre-experience (MIT MFin, Princetion Mfin, LBS mim, Duke MMS , ...). I would like to have a review of my profile so I can "fix" and improve it.
Here is my profile:
Education: European taget-university, Bsc Finance and Economics GPA:3.7-3.8 CFA partner course. Semester abroad in the US this fall. Scholarship each year(merit based).
Work Experience: I 'll do my internship during this summer in a bank (division to be defined); I have also a short work-experience in London (IB).
ExtraC: Volunteer during last summer, private tutor (math and algebra), extra courses at university. Launched a "start up" while in high school(should I mention it in my CV?)
Basketball at semi-pro level for 2 years.
Certificate: Thomson Reuters 3000xtra, ECDL (european computer license Office 2007)
GMAT: not given yet, in my prep test my score has been in a 700-750 range.

At this point probably the best things you can do are:
1. Get academic awards and amazing grades.
2. Get more involved in one serious extra-curric/volunteer work, ideally one in which you can take a leadership position.
3. Do very well in your summer internship and get a second summer internship next year at a awesome place.
Two solid internships + Great grades + GMAT = getting in.
