Looking to apply to programs this coming fall for entry in 2017.
Nationality: Canadian
Education: BCom with concentration in Finance from non-target Canadian university (3.9/4.0), a few leadership roles during school including a student investment fund to which I am now a mentor
GMAT: 700 (Q49/V35)
Work Experience: 1 year as an investment banking analyst at a boutique in Canada - so role is combo of analyst/associate responsibilities
Other: Writing CFA L3 this summer
Goal: Interested in a more analytical and research-based role
2017 fall gives me enough time to meet the 2+ years of work experience requirement that some of the schools have.
Programs I am interested in are: MIT MFin, Oxford MFE, Cambridge MFin, LBS MFin. Would consider other strong programs, but ideally I'll work in London post-graduate degree.

I'd probably add LSE to the mix.
IMO, I think you'd be competitive at all the programs. Great GPA, GMAT and work experience. If you could bump the verbal some you'd be in the mid 700s'. I'd imagine the lower verbal is a function of english being your second language which is understandable. If you are not ESL then you really need to bump that verbal.
IMO, and this is my gut speaking, I feel like Oxford and Cambridge will "penalize" your non-target more than MIT, LBS and LSE. I don't have too much to base that off of, just my gut and some data points I have scene. Definitely apply, just hedge with other programs. From what I have heard, LBS and LSE are the main programs if London IB is your goal.
