Thanks kyatin.
Yeah, the difference is that the SC guide starts from basics. Having it initially would have definitely improved my understanding of strategy guide. Strategy guide is more like a crash course - good to go through on the last day. I am anyways going through the guide and just making bulleted notes of whatever specific I come across. Don't know how much would that help, but just for mental peace :)
I got 4/14 SCs wrong on last MGMAT CAT :(.

4/14 is not bad buddy. but it could be based on what you are shooting for and how you do on CR/RC.
Also see how much time you spent on those...you want to leverage SCs to get some help on time.
Good luck.

Yeah, timing is another worry for me. I am spending close to 2 minutes per SC on an average. Doing equally bad in CR (4/14) and worse in RC (because of loosing time on SC). That is ruining my score. Got 39 on verbal on last MGMAT CAT (I went 10 mins overtime :) )
Tried everything to improve on CR and RC and I can just try to maintain my current hit rate on them. SC is something that can be improved.

As far as I know the red guide by Manhattan GMAT is th ebest one. Have you seen anything worth looking into the purple one?

I am going through the purple one currently. It starts from basics and is worth going through it in the initial stages of preparation. It just helps you grasp the concepts in the red one (strategy guide) better.

I don't see a SC specific book from Manhattan Review:

https://www.manhattanreview.com/gmat-book-material/

I see a Manhattan Review verbal guide.

Plus this thread is almost two years old.
