Debesh89
I'm from India & I'm 27.I've been getting 720+ in my GMAT mocks & I plan on taking it in February 2020.
About my graduation :
Did BTech in ECE from WBUT(2012-2018)
In my 3rd year of college my mother got diagnosed with cancer. My father is psychologically unfit to a certain extent and as a result I moved back home.Kept getting backlogs or remained absent during semesters for 2 years.
In 2017 & 18 I cleared the papers that I had backlogs in or were incomplete because I didn't take them.
Got 70 percentile in CAT2017.
I paint as an extra-curricular(completed exams upto 5th year from Bengal board).
Since graduation I have been busy with my father's psychiatric treatment & sorting out some legal issues with the property that he had not taken care of, in short, spent a year running from psychiatrist to lawyer. What are my chances of gettin into MiM in 2021 & what colleges may I hope to get? Also, I would like to work abroad for 2-3 years before I move back to India.
Hi
Debesh89, I am sorry to hear that you went through a tough time during your grads. The backlogs can be compensated for as long as you explain the reasons behind the same. I would suggest you to look at Europe as Europe has pretty well ranked B-Schools, plus most of the European schools tend to compensate for academics scores if the rest of the profile is good.
If you are applying in 2021, you might be above the average age for MiM Schools so I would suggest you to keep a few specialized masters programs as an option as well (MSc Analytics, MSc Strategic Management, etc.)
If you can help me out with a few more profile details, I will be able to suggest you some schools and programs accordingly.
